What is “Turon”

Turon is a popular Filipino snack, known as deep-fried banana rolls or banana lumpia, commonly sold by street vendors.

Recently, I purchased some with jackfruit for 20 pesos (about US $0.4) at a convenience store.

In the Philippines, jackfruit is referred to as “langka.” Its flavor is a unique blend reminiscent of mango and banana, making it hard to describe accurately.

Interestingly, its appearance is somewhat similar to that of durian, adding to its distinctiveness. Turon offers a delightful taste experience, combining both ingredients in a deliciously fried treat.
