Travel oriented life

展示会の招待券をいただいたことをきっかけに、新宿で開催されたミケルバルセロ展へ足を運びました。

After receiving an invitation ticket to the exhibition, I went to the Miquel Barcelo exhibition held in Shinjuku.

ミケルバルセロは、1957年、スペイン・マジョルカ島生まれの芸術家です。

生地マジョルカ島をはじめ、パリ、アフリカのマリ、そしてヒマラヤなど世界各地で活動していますが、今回日本では初めての個展となりました。

Miquel Barceló is an artist born in 1957 in Mallorca, Spain.

He has been active all over the world, including Mallorca, Paris, Mali in Africa, and the Himalayas, but this was his first solo exhibition in Japan.

絵画をはじめドローイングや旅のノート、本の挿絵、彫刻、陶作品、パフォーマンス、舞台美術、そしてパルマ大聖堂（マジョルカ）のサン・ペール礼拝堂内部装飾などにも携わりました。

He was involved in painting, drawings, travel notes, book illustrations, sculptures, ceramics, performances, scenography and interior decoration of the chapel of Saint-Père in the Cathedral of Palma (Mallorca).

アフリカを旅し、以後、繰り返しマリに滞在をしていました。

私はこのシリーズが最も印象に残っています。鮮やかな色使いが特徴的です。

He travelled in Africa and stayed in Mali repeatedly.

I am most impressed by this series. It is characterized by its use of vivid colors.
