Ginkakuji temple also known as a silver temple was built in the outskirts of Kyoto. Commissioned by the leader of Kamakura era as Ashikaga Yoshimasa whose father built Kinkakuji temple as Golden temple.

Yoshimasa is tired of having a luxurious life from his father. He had wanted to live a modest, and simpler life. The temple embodies his philosophy of Wabi Sabi culture which focuses on functionality and comfortability. Looks like a Samurai house.
Connected to our living life as minimalism.

This temple is listed on world heritage sites. Absolutely must see places in Japan.
